The MicroMAX is specifically designed as an urban ride-sharing vehicle which maximises cabin space. With the half-standing seating configuration it not only frees up space for luggage, but allows for a quick entry and exit to the vehicle. Designed while employed at Designwerk GmbH.
One of the goals was how to maximise cabin space within the footprint of a Mini
In 2013 when the MicroMax was first unveiled at the Geneva Motorshow, it marked a new breed of vehicle. It may have still had a dashboard and steering wheel but it was a blueprint of autonomous vehicle architecture to come. The bus-like cabin combined with the half-standing seating allows for passengers to walk in and out freely of others, perfect for urban ride-sharing. It was Alain's role to design all exterior and interior body panels.
